Question:

Have You Ever Had To Deal With Adults Giving Alcohol To Minors?

My 16 year old daughter went to a block party recently and came back upset. She told me that all of her friends were drinking at the party and getting wasted and ridiculous.

I asked her what the girl's parents were doing (the one whom invited her) and she said that the mother was already trashed when she got there. I don't know if the parents gave alcohol to the minors there but nevertheless they did nothing to stop it.

I've been debating if i leave this alone, do i confront the mother and tell her that i wasn't pleased... what would you do?

  1. ahem, i shouldnt be speaking as an alcohol drinking minor, but these things happen quite often among people my age, whether adults give them the alcohol or not. you just have to accept it and tell your daughter to use her discretion whenever she gets involved in these situations...and remember if its a party with teens there always will be alcohol.

  2. When I was 16 years old I was with this guy whose father bought him alcohol. He would buy it for his friends as well as long as they were staying the night at his house. He always said that it's better if he buys it himself and makes sure his son is safe at home drinking and not out drunk driving or making a scene in public. I don't think it's responsible and never in a million years would my parents provide me with alcohol or even allow me to drink. If I were you, I would not confront the parent, but just make sure your daughter never goes over to their house again and tell her to immediately leave if it happens some where else. If there is no parent there or if the parent is drunk, it is not safe. I have a 7 month old son and in 16 years I will NEVER provide with alcohol, allow him to drink, or be plastered in front of him. I'm sorry, but that is just trashy.

  3. honeslty, i'm only fifteeen.

and i expiriened it alll, getting alchohal from parents

getting weed from parents. Even Steeling It Alchohal From Stores.

istopped when my friend who's only 16 had problems w/her kidneys

&we figured it out that it was from all our drinking, and stufff.

ithink that you should talk to that girls mother, and tell her if

she wants to give alchohall' to anyone give it to her own

kids and not yours, its better in the long run. goodluck:)
