My Father passed away in 1981 and not a day goes by that I don't think of him. I even think of his Father my Gramps! They were pretty cool for old men. (smiling) Hug your poppas today and tell them I wish them well! (smiling more)

Poll :

Do you listen to your dads music from back in his day?

I do cause it was great music and I've learned to appreciate it more now since he's gone. Here is a song he liked and I think you might like also. Enjoy! If you don't like it that's cool cause everyone is special and has their own opinion.

  1. I also lost my father in 1981. I think of him everyday. He was a sweet man. You never appreciate things until there gone. I loved him dearly. I also loved Brooke Benton's , Rainy Night In Georgia. I wish I could say goodbye one more time.

  2. lol i hug my dad everyday, actually more like 3 times a day, i feel sorry for you, but hey, when one door closes another opens, keep your hopes up

  3. my father passed away when i was 21.. we had an argument over my step mother and didnt speak for 3 weeks. he called me and i was still upset and hung up the phone. a week later i get a phone call saying he had passed away.. i can never forgive myself for that.. the night of his death i dreamt of him and i remember telling him how sorry i was. and he hugged me and said i love you.... every night before i go to bed i "talk" to him and tell him how much i miss him.. i am 27 now

everytime i hear.. george strait, johnny cash, and classic country it takes me back to the old days... all the good memories.. urban cowboy movie too..

  4. It is a beautiful song. Sorry for the loss of your father. I know the feeling of living without the parents. I lost mine when i was 5 years old. at least this bad experience had left me a legacy of love . I learned that I better appreciate and love the people who really count in my life. Because after they die there is nothing you can do. So might as well do it now because tomorrow could be too late!

  5. thanks for the reminider I need to call dad. sorry that your dad is gone but the music is a great way to stay connected. always liked that song.

  6. i kind know how you feel my dad died before i was born and it was hard to get sad about it because i have never saw him

  7. my dad died very quickly when i was 8. i didn't have a chance to say goodbye before he went to the hospital. I regret it a lot afterwards. Thinking back, he was too weak to say goodbye to me, his death was unexpected. Him being in the medical profession, i am sure that he knew that he did not have long to live but didn't want us to worry about it. Mum is still grieving (25 years later). It's good to be nostalgic about your dad but make sure you don't live in the past being melancholic etc. Your dad wouldn't want you to do that.

  8. I AM LIKE U MY DADDY PASSED AWAY 8 YRS AGO AND I WISH I COULD HUG HIM TODAY BUT I HUG HIM IN MY HEART AND NOT A DAY GOES BY I DONT WISH I COULS SPEND ONE MORE DAY WITH HIM ... I LIGHT A CANDLE AND REMEBER HIM EVERY 5TH OF THE MONTH AS THAT IS THE DAY HE PASSED AWAY IT WAS APRIL 5TH 2000 AND I MISSS HIM MORE THAN LIFE ITSELF...
