Yes.I lived in Ireland for 14 years.Honestly I didn't know what to expect when I first went to Ireland as any one who I had spoken to about what Ireland was like,every ones perception about Ireland was different.

When I was living in Ireland I found the Irish in general to be a very friendly bunch of people,but then again I am probably a little biased as my husband and 3 children are all Irish.

Yes its beautiful lived in sligo for 4 years and Clare for 6 months

It was everything I expected and more.   I absolutely loved the blend of new and old...great shopping, wonderful roads (on which you have to stop for a sheep every few miles, or a farmer bringing home his cows!)   I was enchanted by the stone buildings and bridges, and---as a gardener---the abundance of beautiful plants and shrubs growing wild that we KILL ourselves to grow in our gardens at home.  The mountains, the beaches, oh I could go on and on.

Best of all were the people.   I find you Irish to have a very dry, or wry, sense of humor...I once used my husband's credit card in a shop (with his name on it) and the shopkeeper, an older man, handed it back to me and said, "Thank you, William."    I stared at him for a moment before I burst out laughing and said, "Do you REALLY think my parents named me William?!"    I found this sort of thing to be typical...sly jokes made with straight faces  :)

I never once encountred a single Irish individual who made me feel anything less than welcome.   I'm in LOVE with your country, and can't wait to come back---if it were at all feasible, I'd happily spend my life there  :)
