Have a 04 Monte Carlo want to put new radio in and keep the steering wheel controls, is it possible?

You can't. Atleast thats what I was told when I changed out my stereo..and sure enough...the steering wheel controls never worked again after.

Most likely not, unless you bought a stereo the same as you already have.

Some stereos now come with steering wheel controls, but they are mainly wireless, where I believe the majority of steering wheel controls from factory are wired in.

Check with the audio installer before you buy, but probably not.

You may be able to remove your controls and replace them with steering wheel controls from the new stereo though.

Never say never.  There are steering wheel audio control adapters that you can buy that will allow you to retain steering wheel controls.  I have one in my GTP and it works flawlessly.
