  1. Find a contractor who you can talk to, tell them your issues and concerns, if they can't guarantee you the size he recommends will cool sufficiently, tell them either put in a 5 ton or you will find a contractor who will.  I went through one local contractor before another put in the three ton I needed.  I have been there done that with an AC too small to do the job, never again.

    just call an a/c company out for a FREE heat load calculation. Just google a/c service in your area and find a company that provides computerized heat load calculations. When you find a company that does, just tell them your interested in a new system because you think your current system is grossly undersized.


  3. yes,there is a factor you use to come up with the tonage you need,how ever you must have one heck of a space to cool down if you can't doit with a 3 ton unit. that will cool up to 2000 sq.ft.

    w/o any problems.i have a 4 ton in one of my offices and it over 3500sq.ft.and cools it great.

    maybe its not the tonage,but the duct work,that needs attention huh?
