Question:

Have a Canon ZR800 camera.Been trying to upload videos, but won't work!might be missing a cord.HOW DO I DO IT?

I have a charger, a cord with red yellow and white plugs, and a strap. I looked at the manual and it said i needed a dv cord. i couldnt find it. am i missing something, or do i just not have it? please help!!!

  1. The DV cable did not come in the box... Check the manual - on the page "Included in the box"... Also note that on the page that says to use the DV cable, it is "optional" or "commercially available".

    USB won't work (you already know this).

    If you are using a Windows computer, you may not have the required firewire port. Installing a firewire port on your computer is cheap and easy (if you have an available PCI slot in the desktop or PCMCIA or Express slot in a laptop).

    Firewire, IEEE1394 and i.Link are all the same thing. Most common firewire cable is 4-pin (camera) to 6-pin (computer).

    Apple Macintosh computers have had firewire 400 ports for many years.

    The cord with the Yellow (video), red (right audio), white (left audio) is the AV cable. You can connect the camcorder directly to a TV or VCR with that for playback only.
