Have a JVC digital cinema system but wont play dvd keeps saying no disk but yet will play cd-rw disks

Its a XV-THA-30 surround sound system , now all disks meet requirements but no disk keeps coming up on the display

Check to see if it is PAL or NTSC DVD then see if your DVD player is NTSC or PAL

some systems use 2 lasers, or a single laser witl dual focus points to read dvd's versus cd's

the laser going out is the most likely culprit.

do some research with nearly the same info...

go to google and search for  " playstation 2 will read dvd but will read cd "

buy a new unit.

check your disk lock or better known as region lock

The dvd laser is damaged.

Try a lens cleaner dvd.....otherwise its trash....thats the problem when buying these all-in-one deals...
