Have a fairly new TV I am presently running WITHOUT cable.?

I have it on the TV option at present...(because it gives me the most channels), but It also gives me the choice of STD IRC or HRC. If, after February 2009 I switch my option to STD, will it still work??? PLEASE HELP - this is sooo confusing!

On February 17 all signals will be digital.  If your television is not digital or if you don't have cable you can call 1-888-DTV-2009 and they will send you a forty dollor coupon to help pay for a digital converter box to connect to your tv.  There are many stores that sell them and there is a minimal extra charge to the stores charge.  You won't have a signal after February 17.

If your TV stops working after February 2009.  Then you can easily fix it by buying a digital converter for your TV.

For the last couple of years, stores were supposed to sell only TV's that are capable of receiving digital signals.  But many stores cheated and sold analog TV's.  

Some of those stores got fined for breaking the rules.  But that's not going to help their customers when February 2009 comes around.

oh wait i think it will because not all the tvs are going to need that box so i think your tv is good because on the ad. they said some tv might not all so my tv is like that too thank you
