I am wondering, if someone tells you "Have a good day" as a sort of goodbye while it is still morning, does that mean that they don't want to deal with you the rest of the day?

  1. No, it means they recognize that they probably won't see you again that day even if they wanted to and they want to politely wish you well.

  2. No. It means that they are wishing you a good day regardless of their involvement or non involvement in it.

  3. No they're just being nice.

  4. I don't think so. The expression is well-meaning. They sincerely want you to have a good day, otherwise they won't tell you that at all. It's different to, "have a nice life." I hope that next time, you won't always look for negative thinhs in such a positive expression.

Anyway, have a good day.. =)

  5. It depends- did you talk their ear off and they're trying to get rid of you or is it just a way to send you off cheerfully?  You'll have to make a case by case call.

  6. It's a nice way of saying "f* off".

  7. It can mean that but it can also mean he really wants to give a bless to you and wish you have a good day.
