  1. We can't tell you for certain what you will get, as that's highly individualized.

However, there are certain common options that you will have to pursue - they will not be handed to you.

You may get extra time on tests. You may get extensions on papers. You may get to take tests away from the rest of the class (either at a different time, place, or both) to prevent distractions. You may get preferential seating in lecture halls and classrooms. You may get extra help in classes from professors (although this is an option available to all students in most cases, and you will have to do it on your own time). You may be allowed to record lectures (not always an option, and sometimes available to all students). You may be able to request copies of notes or presentations.

You will probably have to pursue tutoring - it's available all over the place on university campuses.

Depending on your specific disabilities and what courses you are taking, there may be other options available to you. Make use of the resources provided. There should be a disability services counseler - talk to him or her! Talk to your academic advisor. Talk to your professors. Nothing is going to be handed to you - you have to seek out what you feel you need. Don't be afraid to ask for whatever you think might help - the worst they can do is say no.

    Good luck!

  2. You will get more time to take tests and you will take tests in another location away from your classmates. Take advantage of this opportunity it is well worth it.  Good luck!

  3. good answers both.  However, you MUST have an IEP in place when you leave high school in order to qualify for help based on special needs.

You can go to your district and request to have possession of your file.

Depending on the severity of your disability, you might qualify for text books in tape or other audio form.

You also might want to contact your state's rehabilitation office to see if you qualify for any assistance from them, too.

If rehab or the college can't provide you with a high end Dragonspeak program, I recommend that you get one yourself.  You will be able to talk to your computer to "write" your papers.  Excellent.

    Good luck to you.
