  1. well you caint do breeds if you dont know 5th generations and can prove it, but you can register with things like pinto, buckskin or blue eyed horse association it they can any of those traits

  2. if you have a covering certificate showing that your mare was covered by this stallion then the foal could be registered as a part-bred of the stallion's breed.

maybe more of your mare's breeding will have been entered on it.  failing that, there are various societies that will issue a passport which is now required by law.  also your yearling will need a passport, but that could possibly be issued if you are lucky with the covering certificate.

the above is correct for england.

    hope that helps.

  3. Depends on what for.

If you want to register them for a show name etc then just phone up the pony club i think but if you mean register them under their breed, they need to be purebread so you would need to find out the mares breeding and phone up somewhere for an example: if they are purebread appaloosas, phone up the ApHC (appaloosa horse club) and register it.

  4. For a horse to be registered, most breed associations will require that the parents of the horse are registered, and you need a stud certificate from the stallion owner (the foals sire).

If you don't have the info on the parents of your mare (and especially if they weren't registered, and from the same breed association), then you can't register your mare, or the foal.

However, if your foal was a pinto, the Pinto Horse Association has a hardship registry just off of color.

Another association that allows registry with unknown parentage is the Quarter Pony Association...as long as the horse is within certain height, color, and type restrictions.  This is not as good as having a full registration within a regular breed club, but at least its a way to earn "points" and keep track of the horse.
