I replaced the bulb with a brand new one and it worked great for a few days but now it gives me a "Lamp" error whenever I try to turn it on.

Any ideas on a fix?

  1. There are a couple things you can try.

First, unplug your projector for a couple minutes and then reboot it. It may be an eroneous fault and the reboot could clear it.

Second, make sure your lamp is properly seated. Vibration from the cooling fan could effect it.

Third, it's possible that you were sold a faulty lamp. Also, a projector lamp will overheat and burn out from the oil in our fingers if we touch the lamp. This is true with all high intensity lamps.

If a replacement lamp doesn't get you going, you'll need to find the service center in your area. I would guess the lamp balast is failing, but it's only a guess.

  2. In addition, make sure you reset the lamp itself on the projector.  There should be something in your settings to let the pj know that your lamp has been replaced and reset the hours to 0.
