Have an island in the Philippines, its remote clean and perfect for making a private resort for VIP's.

white sand, habitat and fish sanctuary well preserved, big enough to create a resort with fresh water and mini forest.

The downside, no electricity, inhabited only by a care taker.

  1. How big is it? How far away is it from the city? Where's its location? Is it easily accessible? Are there regular and reliable modes of transport to that island of yours? If it's in the Southwestern part of Mindanao, then the mouse that roars' allegations might hold true because many Muslim terrorists hide there.  If it's in the Visayas or Luzon, then go ahead, make a private resort! Obviously, "the mouse that roars" is not from the Philippines because he easily got carried away by the exaggerated envelopmental reporting both by Filipino and foreign journalists. The Philippines is a lot safer than USA and United Kingdom if we're talking about terrorist threats...

I don't need to read those links, Captain Oveur, because I've been practically living here in the Philippines since birth and I love island tripping and I travel a lot around the country, shopping in it's gigantic malls and swimming, diving in its lovely beaches and never did I experience any terrorist attacks or felt threatened in those travels. Why don't you come here so you'll know better?

So far, USA had suffered the worst terrorist attack in history(READ: 9/11).  Don't you know that?

  2. What?

The Philippines is a huge area of high terror groups. One of the most dangerous places in the world now and since early 1990's.

The USA has historically been the safest place to live in the word.

  3. another downside to owning an Island in this region of the world is there are several free roaming terrorist groups that also take refuge on these deserted Islands.

I have the money to invest in such an enterprise, but I will not invest in an area that is rife with terrorists.

To Karisyuh:  If your a native to the Philippines, then quite naturally you wouldn't have any problems traveling around the Islands, but if your an American or UK citizen, even Australian, you automatically become a target for these terrorist groups, who think all of us are filthy rich and if they take us hostage, they will receive a nice ransom.  They don't consider the local Island travelers to be wealthy, even if you are.  Whenever I go down to the Philippines, I usually travel aboard my ship which is a decommissioned Norwegian Coast Guard Cutter, that is 125'LOA and has the silhouette on the horizon of a military ship.  So, consequently, I don't have any problems with these kidnappers or terrorists.
