Have an old price phister tub faucet and having trouble removing handle after removing stem s***w?

  1. There are 2 ways to solve that.1 just leave the s***w out and the handel will eventually come off (when it is most inconvenient so keep pliers in bathroom).;2, cut it off (a lot of work) and replace.


  2. Put the stem s***w back in..then hold it with a wrench around the nut that it takes to take it off..then pull the handle off first

  3. your local hardware store sells specialized "handle pullers".  

    if you choose to do it without a puller you can remove the s***w and gently tap on the lower half of the handle.  tap opposite sides back and forth until it begins to wobble.  from there, continue until you are able to pull it off.

  4. Over time, calcium deposits build up between the stem and handle. Try wrapping a rag soaked in vinegar around the handle for a couple hours. If this doesn't work, you may need to purchase a handle puller at a Home Center. It is like a gear/bearing puller but made for faucet handles.
