  1. I am Canadian and have heard of both of them there both Irish sports gaelic football is the original Aussie Rules Football a bit different though and hurling is used with a ball and a stick almost like an oversized field hockey stick in a way very physical and conatct sports!! I love them!

  2. Come on the Dubs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. i hurl after a good night of drinking

  4. Yea but i don't remember what exactly it is.  I think most Americans would have a problem with Gaelic football just because of the way it is pronounced they'd assume it is football for g**s.

Alot of us over here are pretty stupid.

  5. Hi,,, i actually like to watch the Hurling event in the winter olympics.. which i attended this year in Turin Italy.....

    good luck......

  6. Yes, some Americans have heard of them.

Now, what's the point of your question?

  7. never heard of gaelic football ill ask my grandfather he is from belfast i think but hurling yes everytime i got back from the bar;)

  8. Yup.  Went to Ireland this summer and caught a hurling match being shown in a pub at lunch time.  Loved it.  I even bought my son a Gaelic Football jersey that had our county name written in Gaelic.  Both sports are really fast paced and physical.

  9. Ummm...lots of us actually. Most US cities with large Irish immigrant and Irish-American (1st and 2nd generation) such as NY and Boston have their own teams and leagues.

Some bars and cable stations carry matches from Ireland as well.

  10. Lets see now.... there was that competitive sport involving massive guys throwing around logs the size of telephone poles.. but from their kilts I figure them for Scots.  I also recall this one sport involving throwing a big rock with a chain and handle attached, this might be the hurling one, but I don't think I ever heard the name.  You have me wondering.. what are they??

  11. isnt that the thing with the broom, the rock, and the ice?
