  1. A 37 yard or meter breastroke?  Remember these suits (even if you take great care of them) last only 5 meets or so.  Consider what meets she would use them for and how far you think she would go and how old she is.  At 13 it won't make a huge difference.

My times were 59 in 100yd fly and 100yd back and I never once considered buying a lzr suit even at a national level.  The lzr suits do reduce drag a little but their main benefit is the  mental edge they give you

  2. If it is yards a 37 is only a 1:14 in the 100 if not slower and that I not very fast unless she is really young like under 10.  So no not unless she is going to a national level meet I would not. However you could buy her a fast skin. Those last for 10 to 15 meets and there are only 150-200 each.

  3. Unless your daughter is competing on a national or international level (i.e. Olympics), I wouldn't bother with the LZR.  They cost $500 or more and are not designed for long life.

  4. I'm assuming 37 second 50m breaststroke correct? Thats fast but faster is better in swimming. Unless your daughter is going to JO (Junior Olympics), its totally unnecessary

  5. With the price of LZR suits as you write, unless your daughter is trying to qualify for the Olympics, save your money and get an ordinary Speedo, TYR, Nike, Kiefer or Dolfin suit.

  6. My advice is to skip the high tech suits until she makes National (or Junior National) cuts. That can be her incentive. At this point in her career, improving stroke mechanics and fitness will make much more difference in her time.

BTW - Are you the mom, or the daughter trying to convince the mom?
