Most people on here are too young, naive, or stupid to know who the Keating 5 were.  They were basically, 5 (or more.  Some got off) S & L owners who loaned themselves hardworking peoples' money and then defaulted on the so-called loans (which were actually multi-million $ gifts to themselves).  This debacle lead to the collapse of the entire Savings & Loan industry.  Millions of dollars in the form of savings earned by hardworking Americans just "disappeared".  As I remember, no one was ever convicted of robbery, and no money was ever restored, as it was uninsured, but it does beg the question:  "Which is the greater crime?  To rob people with a gun, or a pen?"  It was a seriously costly crime, and a hard lesson to learn for Americans.

If Obama bails out Fannie May and the other lenders who engaged in loaning out loans that couldn't possibly be repaid, Keating will be the least of anyone's worries, because the bail out he's proposing would really s***w things up. He needs to let those idiots sink like Enron did.

Yes, What was the budget approved by the Senate and House this year? Thats right the congress spends the money, the President just approves it. I almost forgot that from civics class.  I notice Pelosi and Reid made porker of the month for August at citizens against government waste. org. What ever happened to their promises for the 2006 election, to spend no money without having a way to pay for it?
