Have any of you had AntiSpySpider on computer?

Well this is weird for me bc once I got it, installed Mcaffee for free with AOL and it got rid of the popups and red and annoyng red desktop I got even offline!

I got it from email saying "my screenname, you look so stupid!" For some reason and dont ask me why I opened it but all it showed was WATCH on the email. Did biggest mistake by clickin on it and all h**l broke loose!

Got rid of of popups and red desktop, or so I thought with Mcafee.

But this leads to main question..

Mcafee was slowin puter down and I deleted it and AOL software bc of Tech Support incompetence from AOL. Was having connectivity problems.

I did a scan with Adaware 2008, and it found ANtispyspider in the files found infected BY Name!. It was something I thought Mcafee already did but it only got rid of popups and red desktop screen. Mcafee named infections files but never specific.

Anyway this was over a month ago. Just wondering what you all thought on that, what you thought actually happened?

FraudTool-AntiSpySpider is used to disable the Windows Task Manager and Registry editor. Can display an infection message in the system tray. This tool is used with AntiSpySpider to trick the user into purchasing the application. Downloads and displays advertisements., if you havent already get superantispyware free edition, download, update, and do an in depth scan in safe mode, it does a great job at finding trojans and other c**p, your probally still infected, Good luck.,

I think this is what happened.

U got a virus and the virus infected mcaffee. THen the virus u got rid off was the one on the comp but not the one on the antivirus. so adaware 2008 found it and deleted it, so don't download anything while having a virus.
