  1. Of course! So many times I was bannish to the land of nod! Big Deal...no one, so far, has explained to me the value of points. goldwing

  2. Yes, once for chatting. Such a lie! It was just a question for goodness sakes! It was really funny when you thought about it. I don't think I have enemies here except for Olivia. Like I care. Too many other people on Seniors I really care about. I try not to be rude or offend Oh well, you can't win them all.     Poppy

  3. Yes.  I'm not sure of the question now, but I gave a very honest and good answer.  The person "took offense" and I got a V.  I sent an e-mail  to the complaint dept and told them where the question was and the answer and I also had it re-instated, because it was not offensive and answered the question. Some people juat want to hear what THEY want to hear and not the truth.  Well I'm a very honest person and if I can't tell the truth I don't answer them.  Too bad because I do have some very good answers at times, but they are very honest also.  I ususally say it's my opinion if I think anyone could MAYBE take offense.  I sure don't want to offen anyone but I do enjoy answering questions that I have some insight on.

  4. Oh yeah. Once a girl complained that she slept with a boy and couldn't figure out why he wouldn't 'go steady' with her afteer that. She thought it was love. Ha! I told her straight up she acted like a s%%t and he probably thought less of her now. Truthful answer, but yahoo told me I was insulting to another YA member. I didn't do anything about it. Why bother?

  5. Yes, I'll bet everyone in YA has had it happen.

  6. Yes.  The question was whether Russia had ever landed a man on the moon.  My answer was that the US was the only country to ever land a person on the moon.  It was reported as offensive, for which I appealed, but the violation was upheld.  I'm still waiting on someone to explain how THAT answer was offensive to anyone, but it's like dealing with any other computer-generated program - it doesn't listen to reason!

    Good grief!

  7. I had that happen to me one time with a question I asked.  A g*y man emailed me and told me he had reported my question because it was offensive to use that language.  I had offended him when I used a phrase "unhealthy lifestyle choices" when asking a question.  I sent him an email explaining the unhealthy lifestyle choice I was talking about was alcoholism.  (I had asked how to help a relative who was in trouble because of drinking.)  He emailed back and apologized for being so quick to take offense.  My question got deleted but I didn't worry about that.  I've had questions deleted for chatting quite a few times.  Life goes on.  Don't worry, be happy!

  8. hi . i have never been reported for something yet and i think i always "cheat " when i address someone by they're name or as a group . i do that as a sign of respect for the person (s) , but if i got a reprimand for that , no biggy , it's worth it to me . lol

    have a good day . d.

  9. Yes Twice . . . neither was justified . . .by why fight City Hall. the IRS, the government . . .Just look at it as a slap on the hand and go on . . .Just think,  you have been sent to the principal's office ! Naughty kid ! !  = )

  10. Yes. I once gave very practical information about stroke rehabilitation to someone who had a heartrending question about a young man who had a stroke and couldn't speak (I was the medical editor of a leading journal on neurology for doctors). The Q was in the R&S section and everyone was writing in saying "I'll pray for him." I got a violation notice saying I violated community guidelines--which was crazy of course. I actually gave an informative, useful answer.  There is some link to follow in the violation notice, I think, where you can appeal the violation. Writing an email back in protest doesn't work; you have to send them a note that you want to appeal the violation, then I think they send you another email or form and you fill it out.  I explained my situation and my credentials and my answer was reinstated, etc.

  11. Oh yes. Got suspended for it. Appealed, was a waste of time. I've received violations over the past three years, only one was reversed.

It's a waste of time to appeal now, you either end up getting sent to a complaint posting board, or Yahoo runs you in circles ,making you repeat the violation that was reported.

It looks like Yahoo is trying to stop false reporting by people (trolls)  that don't like your answer, but you get sent the violation first.

  12. Yep, the vegans got mad at me because I said God gave us animals to eat...

    Oh well..

What I did about it?  I laughed...

  13. All the time.  I appeal but I've never won one yet.

  14. I have had questions and answers reported for reasons I don't always understand.  I asked a question yesterday about TV Theme Songs and it was deleted for "chatting".   I just ignore it and don't let it bother me.

  15. Yes, did nothing. I don't concern myself over things like that. :) Sometimes the more you make of something, it just makes matters worse. If you don't give them an audience, soon they will lose interest and move on.

  16. Yep... just recently happened to me.  I gave an honest answer... not a "sympathetic" one which would have been reported for being CHATTY... but someone didn't like that I told the truth.  And no, I was not offensive in my wording at all... still ... I got under someone's skin (in this category, too!) and got reported... I'm appealing.

BTW... reporting someone for a violation JUST because you don't agree or LIKE the answer (if it wasn't insulting, offensive, vulgar, etc) is in itself A VIOLATION!!!  So, be careful, out there!  If YOU report someone JUST because you don't LIKE it... YOU ARE IN VIOLATION.

I'm still awaiting the appeal and reinstatement.

    Have a Senior Day.

  17. yes more times than i can count and the folks who do the most reporting is the seniors -- i have rarely been  reported in other sections even though that is where i spend the most time and answer and ask the most questions - maybe as we get older our skin gets thinner -- i also always can predict when i think i will get report and i can pretty will narrow it down to a few folks and they are church going god fearing folks who are not trolls!!!

i just grin and bare it!!!

  18. Someone asked a question that started, "What do you think...?"  I answered what I THOUGHT and got a violation report on it. Like I'm concerned about some anal retentive on here and his buddies at Y/A and their anal retentive rules.  I wonder if the YAHOOS at Y/A staff are as perfect as they expect US to be (they all 11 year olds on here when the rules specifically say they can't come).

I told those ding bats at Y/A what I thought of their violation notice for answering WHAT I THOUGHT, and my loss of  points (10,000 Y/A points and 49¢ will buy me a senior coffee at Hardees down the street), and told them if they can't send a well thought out comment to me, then don't bother sending me a party line form letter.

    Never heard from them.

    Just my opinion, of course.

  19. Yes.  It's almost always an answer about politics or religion that disagrees with the asker's opinion.  Many users only want answers that agree with them and report those that don't.

  20. Yes only once when I told someone they were dumb enough to believe Al Gore. Oh oh I'd done it again  lol.
