I'm kind of shopping for a country, as it were, but it's awfully expensive to travel. Where else have you lived besides the US? Which country did you like better? Detailed pros and cons would be fab, but any answer is much appreciated. ;]

  1. i lived in both vietnam and US

and i would say i like both for different reasons

    US

    -Pros:

    - better malls

    - has mc.donals

    - no traffic problems/ traffic jam

    - roads are nice. no holes in the road

    - has 4 seasons

    - there is also everything there

    - schools are free for a certain time

    - below 18 - no alcohol/ cigs/drugs of any kind except medicine

    Cons:

    - too much freedom

    - too much fast food places

    - a some point, violence is a problem

    - juvenile issues

    - kids using  drugs/alcohol

    Vietnam:

    Pros:

    - has nice weather

    - tons of good quality/ cheap seafood

    - business booming

    - tons of foreign industries and everything is getting better

    - things here are much cheaper then places around the world (but with changes around the world, things are getting expensive)

    Cons:

    - traffic jam/ bad roads/ holes in roads

    - kids here are allowed to buy alcohol, and cigs and drugs in black market.. or anywhere

    - shopping isnt as good as USA (malls)

    - schools here are sooo expensive. u have to pay for skool from pre-kin all the way to UNI. also, i go to an INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL. and believe me, it is super expensive. unless u work for a big oil company, then they pay for ur kids schoolings.

Even with all the cons, i think i' like vietnam better then the usa. there is so much freedom in the usa it can be quiet dangerous. w.e but so is vietnam to be hosnest. and also, the way parents teach their children here, it is so different then america. also, the culture here is fantastic. he food is also great. also, it is quiet close to malay, china. singapore, australia.. u name it, so its easier to travel. plus,. business in booming in vietnam, and many people from foreign countries are coming here to work.

anyways, thats all i can think of right now. getting sleepy! haha

    hope i help

    :D

  2. I've lived in both Canada and the US.  I prefer the US for some things and Canada for others.  Weather is definitely a plus in terms of US - I lived in both Florida and North Carolina.  I also found that in the US there is usually an abundance of everything, and a great variety of things available in food, entertainment, social life, etc., more so that in the places I've lived in Canada.  That could be partly because I was living a very relaxed and carefree life style when I lived in the US.

I found that the people are very friendly in both countries.  I have great friends on both sides of the border, and have felt welcome everywhere I have lived.

I prefer Canada for the health care, and because recycling and environmental stewardship is an accepted part of life in Canada, much more so than in the US.   Generally the pace of life in most of Canada is slower and a little more laid back.

In my experience, both countries are great places to live.
