This guy claims that Gore is wrong about a good number of points in his movie. He has also challenged Gore to a debate for the last 2 years with no reply from Mr. Gore. I can see why.

  1. gee, i wasn't aware that al gore was what's important.

certainly he is a boring speaker.

certainly he did tell the worst case.

no-one has proved that the main idea of the film is incorrect.

<<He has a lot of published evidence that AGW is a scam to shut down the economy of all free market countries.>>

so is he a politician, economist, politician, or energy industry paid lobbyist?  he's wrong.  just as a number of other folks are wrong.

<<People on the side of global warming make more money and have more to lose financially than those against it.>>

you're kidding, right?  how much were Exxon's profits for the last 3 months?  DUH.

<<The argument is almost as lame as the oceans will raise 6 m by the year 2000.>>

do you know what a straw man is?  look above.  this argument has never been put forward in support of AGW.  it's deniers that say it, and then call it a lie.  however, they're the only ones that said it.

<<the sad fact is that all the autos in America put less than 8% of the CO2 in the atmoshere.>>

the AGW argument does not involve the amount of CO2 processed by plants vs the amount released by burning coal and oil.  the problem is the 40% increase in atmospheric CO2, and the effect it's having on the climate.

<<AWG is a proven fact and there is no debating that.  So it has gone from science to religion then. >>

gee, another argument that only comes from deniers.  what a surprise.

<<calling for hydrogen fuel cell autos but the exhaust is water vapor the worst greenhouse gas there is.>>

adding more water to the environment makes no difference.  ("I have been taking meteorology classes in the local college" -- really?  and you post this argument?  be sure to include it on your resume.)  when there's excess water in the atmosphere it rains, and removes it.  that does not happen with CO2.

<<I don't see the link, neither does most of the others in the class. Much to the dismay of our teacher>>

    --  where is the school?

    --  who's the teacher?

what's really astounding is that you seem to think you're smarter than all those smart folks, with PhDs, that get paid to study the climate.  do you think that college makes them dumber?  then why are you going?

  2. Yes.  That is NOT a public policy website, incidentally--its a propaganda site paid for by the oil industry.

His accusations are false.  What he does, mostly , is take conditional statements made in the film (where it was pointed out something "MIGHT" happen) and then attack it claiming that Gore said the event WOULD happen.  The rest are simply outright lies.

No one--especially Gore --is going to waste their time "debating" man-made global warming. It's a proven fact and there is no debate.

  3. I completley agree that our climate change is first and foremost due to a natural cycle that has gone on for millions of years. However to ignore that carbon emissions play a role in speeding up this process is niave. Will carbon emissions cause some massive global wide catastrophy.... no of course not but it does have a negative effect on our environment that we should not ignore especially considering that alternatives can be available within the next few decades. Oh and by the way Al Gore is a complete dumb ***.

  4. Whether Al Gore was right or not, he was trying really hard to open everyone's eyes to the massive amounts we consume and pollute daily.  If you ask me, he should be president--atleast he's trying to focus on meaningful issues.

  5. Once Al's president this guy'll be first against the wall.

  6. Yeah I've seen and analyzed Monckton's paper.  I found 9 of the 35 so-called "errors" were imprecise, but essentially correct, 10 were correct, and 4 were real errors. A dozen or so I couldn't judge without further research.

I don't really care about Gore or his film - it got the basic science correct, which is all I care about.  Yes it could have been more precise, but Gore isn't a scientist.

If you want to learn the details about global warming, by all means, get your information directly from climate scientists.  But don't get it from Monckton.  He's a political and business analyst with a degree in journalism.  He doesn't know what he's talking about any more than Gore does.

  7. Because Gore's afraid of looking bad.  I can't really blame him.  If you don't have a really solid foundation for your claims, you can be scared you'll look like a fool.  So, I guess Gore isn't really sure about his claims.  I don't really have an opinion on this issue either way, I guess I'm agnostic on it, but I don't agree with Gore's views or the way he shoves them down everyone's throats.

Really? Because Bob, a top contributer in the GW section of Y!A, puts forth this argument all the time.

"Have any of you seen this report on "An Inconvenient Truth"?"

Yes I have seen it. Monckton and Gore are irrelevant.

  9. wow thats some good evdience agaist Gore!

  10. as ive always said, global warming is bull. its a natural cycle

  11. Gore has NEVER accepted any invitation from 100's, 1000's, including scientists to debate. He shows a Polar Bear stranded on an iceburg. Polar bears swim 100's of miles. On occasion, they stop on an iceburg to rest. Look it up. The world has been in an ice age for millions of years. It normally does NOT have ice or polar caps. That is normal. Being in an ice age, naturally, it is warming up.

Severe storms are caused by cold meeting hot. If everything was warming up, there would be less severe weather, not more. Logic people. Look it up. Global warming is happinging on Mars right now.
