Have any of you taken the 6 month Deutsch class that the govenment sponsors?

Question

I´m starting this class, and have no idea what the professor or class will be like.

Are German language schools like going back to college, or should I expect something else? I´m really nervous about this!

This classes is not like that you are going back to college. I teach in some base German Language long time ago, it was fun and you just learn the language and we had a good time there. You are having also some tests there too. Don't be so nervous and good luck for you....

No, I have not taken them because I am German, but I know foreigners who went there and they did very well in those classes. Just go and check it out!!  You don't have to be concerned and nervous. The people who teach there are very nice and welcome the foreigners to learn the language.

My husband though went to the Goetheinstitute and learned German there and that was very good for him. Or you could also go to the VHS (Volkshochschule). There are so many options!

yes.....its boring but useful.....they basically brainwash you a little and teach you the grammatik of the german language...I will go to bed know but if you like I can tell you all about it.....Its a sinch.....piece of cake and very similiar to english (you will find they use alot of english words but pronounce them differently...)  Best tip is learn alot of vocabulary asap...Words...just words...and practice talking in class at the beginning right away....if not it will only get harder and there IS a test at the end....Gotta go to bed no.....Want me to tell you more tomorrow?  i JUST FINISHED THIS TWO MONTHS AGO:::::::
