It seems to me that in MPD spirits could be causing these different personalities.

  1. When you look at some of the literature you may have to look under DID (Dissociative Identify Disorder) which is the more current term for MPD (Multiple Personality Disorder).

The book "People of the Lie" by Scott M. Peck. M.D. (link below) discusses the reality of human evil and in the book two of the patients are "possessed".

While it true that this will fall out of what J.B Rhine would call parapsychology (ESP, PK) and more into the field of psychical research (survival after death, mediumship, etc) the two fields have come back together some to the disappointment of some and the joy of others.

Anyway, the last link below is a person actively engaged in parapsychology and one of his areas of expertise is Dissociative experiences and disorders.

Hopefully the few links below will be enough to get you started and give you some basic information on this phenomena.

  2. Deenie, that would seem to fall outside the range of what parapsychologists typically do. They are more concerned with tapping into the hidden power of the brain rather than dealing with spirits like a medium would. However, some parapsychologists have written something about spirits and possession. One example is Loyd Auerbach. Disclaimer - I don't believe in any of this stuff.

  3. I ask most of my selves this question often. I say "What is up with all of us, you know me and me and me and everybody.... Are we and me more than just the result of a crazy world? Are we and me just versatile, or are we being influenced by another realm?"

Some of us think there are similarities, but some of us don't even care. I'll be taking a survey again soon. We'll try to get to the bottoms of these.

  4. Yes that is more likely than demonic possession.People with Multiple personality disorder can speak in any tone of voice in what seems like a recognized or non recognized language. Some words they speak may resemble words from other languages which in only a coincidence.
