Have anyone ever used the touchmath?

I have research this touchmath thing and would like to purchase it, but the downfall is that it is so expensive. do anyone have any alternatives? Did it do the trick in helping to learn math? and I don't get it with the dots.can i request that the school buy this for my child to use who has an IEP and be put in the plan?

  1. No, you probably can not put this into the IEP.  What if they purchase the system and it doesn't work for him, then they are legally responsible.  You can suggest it, but purchasing it, training the teachers, copies galore, etc are a bit expensive.  There are lots of other strategies that could be used.  You child's teachers should be using one that complements his or her curriculum already in place.


  2. i have seen specific methods written into IEPs--in the supplemental aids section (not goals and objectives)

    I have not personally used it-but know of otehrs that have success with it-

    what is the school currently using--do they have any type of math program beyond the basic program used by non special needs students?
