  1. Never EVER pay for anything up front.  If they say it's free and then ask for a registration fee, or money for a background check or "training materials," it's a scam.  And . . . don't EVER give out your SSN!

  2. Hey:

Honestly, I've heard both positive & negative comments about this company. If you check out www.ripoffreport.com, and enter in Axis Client Referral, or similar to it, you will find some comments pertaining to this company. As a matter of fact, I can give you the link right now that will take you DIRECTLY to the comments that I'm referring to:

Make sure that you read it from TOP to BOTTOM, because there are mixed comments in that section on that company. I know a little because I have been wondering the same exact thing. Let me tell you my issue with Axis: I am interested in work at home, also, and I came across Axis. They emailed me back telling me that they have positions, paying from $10/hr-$60/hr(red flag!!)...well, I went ahead and decided to reply back to their email. They also told me that I would have to pay $35.00 for my background check(and by the way, PLEASE don't listen to people telling you that if a company wants you to pay for your background, that it means the company is no good..because I have worked for at least TWO companies where I had to pay for my background check, BOTH VERY REPUTABLE COMPANIES, and it was around the same price as Axis is asking me to pay!! So, PLEASE don't think that about companies because now-a-days, you can never be TOO careful!!)..OK, back to my story: To be honest with you, I have a flaw on my criminal background that is not supposed to be there(I was scammed by my ex-husband outta some money...that's a whole other talk show!!!)...However, my background is flawed. So I decided to contact Axis MYSELF, to ask the staff if I would still be eligible to work for their company because of the fact of my flaw. "Mindy White"(I've seen where her name is "Mindy Woods" as well!!..ANOTHER RED FLAG!!!..lol)..Mindy told me that, "sure, just go ahead and send in the money for the background, and I'll tell the other HR managers about you, and it shouldn't be a problem getting you in"(RED FLAG!!!) I mean, don't get me wrong, its nice to get a break from an employer when they know BEFOREHAND of an issue you have with your background, but those employers come FEW & FAR BETWEEN!!! However, I was SO glad that I had finally found somewhere to work, FROM the comfort of my own home, and with NICE PAY!!! HOLD UP!!! WAIT A MINUTE!!! I started to thinking, "d**n! this may just be TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!!" Since I've been unemployed, my dad has been very nice, sweet and generous as far as helping me with my bills. But at the same time, I knew that if I were gonna pay for the background check for Axis, that more than likely, my good ole' dad will foot the cost of the background check!! I DID NOT want to take my dad's money, give it to Axis for the background, and then find out it was nothing but a scam-that would anger me with Axis, and make me feel guilty because of the fact that my dad is doing nothing but holding me up financially. (Ok, I'm sorry for the babbling, but this s*** that companies try & pull on us are a TRIP!!!) let me get to my point: On yesterday afternoon, July 17,2008, I called Mindy and told her my story. For one thing, she didn't AT ALL sound very enthusiastic to recruit me. Although on yesterday when we spoke about my background issue, she told me to "go ahead and do the background", which I guess was nice if this is in fact a legit job offer, to me, she STILL didn't sound quite right. She sounded rather dry, and she really made me feel that I was bothering her just because I had a question. So after sleeping on it, I decided not to go thru with Axis, because I also went to ANOTHER work-at-home scam sight, and once again, I typed in Axis Global Referral, and sure enough, I got some more comments!! Here are the other comments. Click on this link below:

Once again, PLEASE read ALL of the comments...

I called Mindy back again today to ask her, "Hey,look, I dont wanna give you $35, and you dont stick to your word."  Her reply was still rather dry, and once again, I felt as if I was bothering her. But she DID stick to her original comment she told me on yesterday, "Ya, I'm gonna pass it along to my managers." Well, it STILL made me feel even WORSE. When I thought about it a little more, this is the conclusion that I came up with: "Ok, its cool and all for me to get a job that's ideal and d**n near perfect..but its just something about Mindy that raises red flags" Also, when I called Mindy again today to ask her was she gonna stick to her word, she mentioned to me, "Well, you dont sound really productive about this, so maybe you shouldn't do it"(I'm a psychology major, so I am VERY WELL FAMILIAR with the term REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY"!!! And that's what I think that Mindy was trying to do to me! She wanted to maybe turn the tables on me, and make me feel like, "OK, I'll go ahead and give this deal a shot." No. I'm not THAT crazy...most people that want you to work for them, background fee or not, will at LEAST sound a little enthusiastic, they will make you want that job SO BAD that they will say or do ANYTHING to get you in the door for their own gain or profit!! Mindy just didn't sound that way to me. I may have a flaw on my background, but I d**n sure know what people usually  do or say to try and "win you over" in whatever situation you & the prospective employer is in.

I'm not saying that Axis is a joke, because I DID see some POSITIVE comments about Axis on those very same links and websites that I had just given you. I'm actually still torn myself if I should pay for the background check because at this point, I'm willing to do extra just to get a job because it is SO HARD for me to get anything worthwhile until this charge on my background is cleared. (It is NOT supposed to be on my background AT ALL!!) Its possible that I may pay my $35, and Mindy hires me. But at the same time, I'm thinking that it just may be possible that Mindy is trying to take my kindness and vulnerability for granted and scam me just because she is aware of the fact that my background is flawed, and I REALLY need a job. If it comes back as a scam, I am out of $35. And honestly, that's not much considering the amounts that a lot of other companies try to pull out over ya!!

I'm so,so,so,so, very sorry for writing this BOOK! But, I know what its like to want something, and it turns out to be no good.

Lastly, here are some "legit" work-at-home job links that I have came across, and so far, they seem legitimate. I've done THOROUGH research, and have checked references with these companies that are on these links. Try them out,  I hope that it helps(and if you come across a legit link, PLEASE let me know!!) Here are the links to the "legits". Good luck on your hunt, and again..sorry about my "auto-biography"..
