Played 2 days in a row and this time the pain is a little worse. It even hurts to open and close my hands. Help! I really love to play golf. I need to correct whatever is causing this problem.

  1. try to ware a correct size glove. it should fit tight, but not cutting off your blood flow. also keep your wrist locked out when you make contact with the ball. this should start to make you feel better. But also take a rest from golf. give your body, esp your hands and wrist time to heel.

  2. the problem could be many things it could be the glove it could be that you are gripping the club to hard or it could be a phsical problem your best bet would be to go to the doctor and let him/her take a look at it

  3. your grip is to tight. release the grip and the pain will go away

  4. You may be gripping the club too tightly.  loosen your grip, also warms up by flexing your hands, palms and fingers before you start pounding balls.

Could be also you're not hitting the balls solidly/ hit the ground too hard/ hit the balls thin.  That will transfer much more vibrations from the clubs to your hands.

Get lessons before you ruin your hands/ wrists/ back.

  5. Golf uses alot of muscles that many people don't regularly use, so some soreness is to be expected when you first start out.

You may also be gripping the club a little too tight or incorrectly. If you look up golf grips, you should see some examples of the "proper" grip types.

    Good luck!

  6. If you have just started spend some money on a golf lesson before you get into bad habits .

No point asking here with golfers who are low-mid or high handicappers

  7. Loosen your grip a little.

  8. You must be a paper pusher. People who work with their hands (or lift weights) get calluses and after a while nothing hurts. Try doing manual labor once in while even around the house and then you can play golf everyday without pain. Or you could just take a Perkacet before playing.

  9. Happy Gilmore doesn't wear gloves, and neither should you.

  10. u might be trying to work to hard as in gripping or swinging.

or it could be the glove but idk

  11. There are a couple of things I would suggest. One is that you are probably gripping the club too tightly. The other is that the grip size on your club may be incorrect. When you grip the club, your fingers should not touch or barely touch your hand as it wraps around the club.

If you just started out, you may be using someone else's clubs and the grips are meant for that person. You might want to get the clubs regripped for you. Take them to a pro shop and they will instruct you on what is the right size grip.

  12. I don't know if you mean your skin on your hand hurts, like you might be developing a blister. or the muscles in your hand hurt.  If it is the skin thing, make sure you have a decent glove that fits properly and isn't worn.  Also the type of grips on your clubs might cause some irritation.  Look at some Wynn grips.  They make a smooth grip that might be better suited for you.  Now, if it is the muscles that hurt, you are probably gripping the club too tight, which most amateurs do.  Try to relax.  Take 3 or 4 practice swings nice and easy with a relaxed grip, and then approach and hit the ball.  Hope this helps, and happy golfing.

  13. Sounds like you might be gripping the club too tightly.  Hold it like it was a tube of toothpaste - firm enough to hang on, but not firm enought to squeeze any toothpaste out.
