Have been trying to connect

Have been trying to connect to Windows live messenger for past 3 or 4 days, previously not a problem. Cannot connect coming up with error codes and when I troubleshoot I get message back saying there is trouble with my internet connection. My internet connection is fine as I can connect to any other website without any problems.
