Have bought 2 baby budgies & have had them for a few days & their poo is congealed around their tail feathers?

I have 1 male & 1 female. They are very calm & happy to sit on my finger . They are eating alot & today the male had quite a bit of poo around his tail feathers. I cleaned it off but am worried that he is actually sick. After I cleaned him his poo seemed quite watery. He keeps talking to his mate & eating but his eyes are half closed and he keeps puffing out his feathers. What should I do? Do I need to seperate them if he is sick? Would appreciate any help...thanks

Is he drinking a lot of water or eating a lot of vegetables/fruit?

If he is I wouldn't worry too much, it's normal.

He is still eating so that's good.

Are his eyes closed when he is talking or you talk to him?

These a both normal also.

Puffing out feathers can be normal when it's cold.

Make sure  they are away from any draughts though.

Watch to make sure he keeps eating.

If you are worried you could take him to a bird vet (quite expensive though) just to be sure.
