Have cobra ins from pryor employer hurt on job no worker comp and cobra plan won't pay what can i do?

I am self employed and contract my services out. I have cobra insurance from previous employer. Was hurt on job and do not have worker comp insurance. Cobra insurance will not pay, Said it is a worker comp claim.

  1. If there is no worker's comp insurance then your cobra should cover. You may need to contact an attorney for this one or pay out of pocket.


  2. since you are your own employer, I would suggest writing a letter on your company letterhead stating that you do not carry work comp on yourself and have no employees.  Submit that with a letter to the health insurance carrier explaining your situation, along with the original denied claim.  

    Your health insurance should pay if there is no work comp.

  3. Cobra is responsible.
