  1. I don't think SBW is overrated. His offload skills are very rare for a forward. Some of the stuff he pulls off and the tries he sets up is amazing. Frank Pritchard and Feleti Mateo have similar skills. SBW is really carrying Canterbury at the moment, and quite frankly they'd be lost without him.

  2. As kids they are selected on the basis of where they are registered to play. Nationalities don't come into it.

SBW is not as over-rated as that other kiwi Silly-Willie Mason.

  3. Well junior rugby league reps doesnt really mean anything,i could pick out MANY current new zealand players that played in QLD or NSW junior rep sides.

  4. Well fair enough i think we should let him pass at that. I mean talent scouts normally only go to big junior rep games. Sonny could have been playing for a contract an they arent meant to pledge their eligibility until they play first grade or a selected at test level. Look at Ashton Sims for the Broncos he wants to play for NSW but is eligible and will maybe play for fiji in the world cup. In this instance upon the conclusion of the world cup he will have to pledge his allegiance to fiji or Australia. Feleti Mateo is also in the same bout. If your dream was to play for NZ but had to go through the Aussie ranks then you probably would.

It is easy to say that Aussies have it over NZ in league at the moment with no disrespect they are a growing team and many upcoming players go to england and aren't be released for a test which is unfair. However NZ has it over Aus in union. For a young NZ player to make a career out of league he would have better chances playing in Australia where there is more opportunity.

I really think they should have another NZ team in the NRL like Have Auckland Warriors again plus a team in wellington    or canterbury or christchurch. Then more opportunity would  be available to younger NZ players and less would go to England. Also i think they should incorporate something like origin such as north V south or NZ v NZ maori during the year to give them somthing to strive for. i think that would also make test football stronger.

I think they allow this in junior football to give the NZ boys more opportunity plus you cant have a junior coach saying to a parent 'im not picking him hes not from here' Australian RL will always be strong so why not give them ago. At elite Origin i think that should just be for the Aussies which is why i suggested the other previous things.
