Question:

Have divorce laws and others gone too far?

Equality is a great word and I'm all for it. But going thru a divorce, I saw my ex-wife was able to do/say/claim almost anything without ever being punished for lying (she was caught three times but the judge/s never punished her.)

That plus seeing my son; my ex stopped us from seeing each other up to six months in a row. When I called a lawyer, he wanted lots of $ and said "she doesn't have to listen to the judge."

Is there ever a case in which the laws were unequal and hurt men/boys?

  1. most cases. It is the reason i refuse to even think about getting married unless she has a ton of cash a pays a big dowry to me.

Other than that marriage is a bad investment, emotionally and financially.

  2. Yep - the laws are inequitable and unfair at times.  I suppose, they were written at a time when they were necessary, but much corruption has taken place - and the equity balance has now tipped.

  3. Sadly a woman knows that in a divorce she can cause you great grief. The courts almost always side with them. Now fems will say it should an is equal but all guys know better. An they know they can do whatever they want an just ware you down on court cost till you can't fight no more. The system needs to be revamped. I hope to become a judge one day so I can correct many a wrongs.

  4. Women tend to get the upper hand because marriage means more for women than men. Usually, women are left to do greater chores and daily activities in the marriage, cooking, cleaning, ect. Plus, when it comes to childbirth, that's all on the woman as well. Sadly, no, it is not fair. Also, I am not saying it is justified. This is merely the reasoning most use when siding with women, even when we don't have the right away. The legal system just fails sometimes, especially in equality's case.

  5. I don't think the problem was that the law was unfair or you had a biased judge.  I think one of the major problems was your attorney.  Where was he in all of this?

Oh, please don't tell you tried to represent yourself in this.  If you did, then the judge was making an example out of you and a fool of you.  I hope this wasn't the case and you just had a lousy lawyer, but if you did indeed try to represent yourself, that was your first mistake. The judge honors the law and when someone who is unskilled in the law wants to attempt to represent themselves they look at as a mockery of the law...Ryan
