Have family going to Bct next week-bah question!!! please help

I am leaving the 13th of this month for bct-- I know that bah is paid on the 15th, And I know that pay will not take effect by then... On bah are you paid for the month ahead? or the previos month/// Meaning will i gwet bah for august or will sept 15 be for the previous month... I hope this helps... your pay will be behind....you never get paid in advance....in the military..i dont know what the people above me are talking about my husband has been in for 19+years and i do not ever recall being paid money before he did his time...thats a laugh....he went in ...in jan 3 of 89...everything is based on that date...time in service raises etc..we dont see them until the end of jan...his clothing allowance you get once a year again..end of the month.....nothing is paid in advance in your normal everyday paycheck

Nope,

If you start basic on the 13th.

You might get the first BAH on the 30th.

If so, they will include the extra 2 days. The 13th and 14th.

BAH is divided into two pay checks, the 15th and the 30th.

There is no advanced BAH.

But there is a good chance, your firsat pay will be deposited on the following 15th of the month, sometimes it take awahile for your pay to catch up.

But if it does take to the following 15th,

You will recieve BAH and pay for the 17 days of this month, plus the first 15 days of next month on that check.

we use bah from august in sep,what is pretty bad the first month(cause you don't get it for it,army pays always "back pay") .just try to save some money for the 1st month now.you will get half of you bah on the 15th and half of it on the 1st!you will be fine.just wait till you are out of basic and try to find a house off post .off post is so much better (you can make a break after work and don't have to look at the fence all the time,you don't have that many rules,you can pick your house,you don't have to wait on some grazy waiting list,you don't have to deal with all the kindergarten and bs on post......)!wish you and your family the best luck!

You'll get paid BAH for the coming month, but you'll probably end up getting any BAH for August via back pay.  I doubt you'll even go to finance to start your pay before the fifteenth.
