I have a current 240 V cord with plug with Ground tab that bends opposite direction of the new generator 240 socket. Can I replace plug or buy "converter" plug (240 to 240 but tab goes other way)? Or is there a safety issue here?

  1. The plugs have different configurations for different current ratings. Go check with electrical supply house to make sure that you get correct plug.

  2. Get the correct plug that mates with the generator socket. Those plugs are designed to mate properly with each other to avoid damage to anything that's plugged in downstream.

  3. Converter plugs are available at RV stores.
