  1. We loved Rome...

We rented a small apartment in the piazza of the Pantheon. From there you can walk anywhere. The Campo de Fiori is a great place to grab fruit for breakfast.  Buy whatever the guy with the cherries on his ears (the first stall) gives you - it's the best. (figs, cantaloupe,apricots... ) You can also get pastries from Rocca's ( famous cafe at the Pantheon) You are also 2 min walk from the piazza navona which has the best restaurant ( Quattro Fiumi - the one with the pink tablecloths, don't forget the Chianti Classico) as well as two fountains, one by Bernini and entertainment every night. The best gellato place is also right off the pantheon's piazza (say hi to Jerry for us) as well as being the scene for Roman Holiday. Angel tours are the best ( ask for Jimmy if he's still there) for the Vatican ( they wait in line for you), the Colosseum, the Forum and there is a free tour every night at 7pm for the Pantheon ( Raphael's tomb is here). Look for a small book they sell at the vendors which has transparencies that overlay pictures of Romes ruins and show you what it used to look like (Rome past and present).Try not to miss the Trevi fountain or the Borghese villa as it has many works of art including Berninis Apollo and Daphne ( rent an audio guide) and the Capitoline museum (where Romulus and Remus wolf statue is) with the piazza design by Michaelangelo. Don't forget the spanish steps and the mouth of truth if you have time as well as Michaelangelo's Moses in San Pietro in Vincoli( the statue which MA hit with his hammer on the knee and said "speak").

Rome was our best holiday yet (and we had kids with us)

  2. Rome, Rome , Rome!

  3. ROME ^^ OR MILAN

  4. ALL ROADS lead to ROME---

  5. rome!

    the trevae fountain

    the colloseum

    and many more in ROME

  6. Wow you're lucky!

    Definitely Rome. Amazing place.

I had 4 days to spend in Paris and it was a perfect amount of time to see everything, so you should be able to have a great time in Rome or whereever you choose to go.

    Have fun!

  7. either venice or rome.

italy is awesome. sucks you've only got 4 days.

  8. rome, florence, venice

  9. hi I'am italian.

in italy there are a lot of beautiful city, but are also more little like firenze, perugia, venezia ecc... and so you can see the citys in only 2 days!

instead rome is very big and has a lot of things to see...you should have 4 weeks to see everything! so I advise you to come to rome...

especially in this period with the sun and the spring

  10. only 4 days???italy is so beautiful....rome(but it's too big)

so one day venice, another verona(it's near venice),one day florence and the last 5 terre near nice in france.next travel for south italy

  11. Rome , Venice or Florence

  12. Hi...I'm Italian...I live in a small town not far from Venice...I can assure u that Venice is one of the most suggestive cityes in Italy...if u want more information about it...send me an email...in addition I can suggest u Rome and Florence of course...!! Hi hope I've helped u....!! = D Alberto

  13. If you are flying into Rome, stay there. If you fly into Venice, stay there but outside the city (Mestre) (it's cheaper)

But the best place for four days has got to be Firenze.(Florence). Museums, cathedrals, gold center over the river, shops galore, lots of nightly activity in the piazza della signorina

  14. Hi, I'm Italian. In 4 days, including arriving and departure the best chioce is Venice. first of all this is the best season to visit it, then you can spend one day walking in the city, relaxing and sightseeing. In the second day, fully immersed in the unique atmosphere you can visit some relevant museums like palazzo grassi, museum of Accademia or Gugghenheim's Collection (three big museums are enough to fell you tired....). In your third day you can have a trip aroun the famous isless of Murano, Burano and Torcello, they are not only carachteristic but unique. A very few tourists travelling from abroad do it but they loose a lot. On your fourth day you can visit lots of churches and palaces and then come back to the airport wich is really near and well connected, so you won't loose a lot of time commutin from and to the airport.

    Enjoy your trip!

  15. If you have four days I'd say to go for Florence. You will be able to visit Piazza della Signoria and Palazzo Vecchio, its Duomo (cathedral), the Baptistry (its exterior made of green and white marble are really famous) and the Ponte Vecchio (old bridge). Florence isn't a huge city, you're gonna a great time and a good idea of  how the city really is. Save Rome or Venice for the next travel. You won't be able to have a full visit of Uffizi in Florence but you can choose certain rooms: e.g. Leonardo or Michelangelo. Keep in mind Uffizi timetable Tuesday-Sunday, 8:15 am - 6:50 pm. A useful hotel search engine to book hotels in Italy is Scoobit.com http://www.scoobit.com Switch the language to English, then fill the form with city name (Florence), leave the address blank. Then click on "Search".  I went to Cellai Hotel Florence, nice and clean place, but feel free to choose the hotel that best fits your needs. Sure website to book on line from. I tried it many times. Have a nice time in Italy.
