Have had immersion heater replaced. Will the water from hot water tank eventually run clear?

My friend is a plumber he replaced our immersion heater element yesterday like-for-like in a 20something year old tank, he said a few bathfuls of water should allow the tank to run clear and not rusty, he said its slightly mucky water because it will be what was left over at the bottom of the tank. Is this right? Will we see clearly soon ? :-) Thanks for any help guys and gals

  1. Are you sure he replaced everything? Is he a licensed plumber? I would let the hot water run for full blast for 5 minutes. I do not know how long it takes to get the "muck" out. Did your friend do the work right?

A plumber would always make sure the work is done properly before he leaves.

Why didn't your friend clean the mucky water? He should have cleaned everything. I installed my sink and I made sure the water was clean coming from the tap.
