Have i just experienced the paranormal?

4 years ago my sister died of an sudden death. It shocked everyone who knew her and was horrible for the family. Since then my mum was saying she see my sister in her room. I didn't believe her till last night. i woken up from a horrible dream, with cold sweat dripping from my forehead. I sat up to see a young lady dressed in white but i could not see her face. i rubbed my eyes to look better but as soon as my eyes came back to focus she had faded. Was it my sister finally showing herself to me or someone else? what are your views?

am really sorry about your sister

being a biologist i don't really believe in ghosts or any other paranormal stuff. what i can tell you in regards to your question is that our eyes do not see our brains see things. even when you don't see ghosts the picture that u see when u open your eyes is not exactly what exists before you, most of our view is a blare picture (details r clear only at the centre of vision) the rest is made up by our brain according to what the brain would expect to be right . so if somebody believes in ghosts then at some point his brain will construct ghosts even though GHOSTS DON'T EXIST

Talk to your mum about it, sometimes family do visit.

My fiance thinks I am crazy when I "see" my Gran (I am not on drugs and don't have any mental health problems).

I am a firm believer in the paranormal and have been for a long time.

Sometimes "random" spirits come into our homes, this can be because they once lived there, they lived in the area or they have something to do with the past of the property or the surrounding area.

Don't be scared though, and don't attempt to use a Ouija board, despite what people may say.

People who die sudden or violent deaths dont allways move on, somtimes they are so confused and shocked that they cant see the light, others dont realise they are dead and then they stop seeing the light, unfinnished buissnes and fear of what is on the other side are all reasons for staying, i do believe that it was your sister, she was young, blond i believe, tall, friendly and very kind to everyone, i get the feeling she is trying to get help to move on, if you see her again to try to reasure her that its safe in the light and imagine you can see it and make it brighter and brighter concentrate hard on projecting this to her tell her that you are all well, thank her for watching over you and ask her to be at peace, try and get her to move on, its better for her to, that is of course if this is infact her spirit. It may be a ghost, they are different, the spirit is like the persons soul and a ghost is an imprint of them and their energy which is common with sudden deaths particularly if that time when they died they were thinking strongly of somthing or someone that tied them to this world, their soul could have moved on but a part of their energy remained behind like a memory of going into your mums room and yours, unless it was the same room which is most likely, or if she even died in her room and she wanted to be closer to you and your mother then it would explain the imprint, but i personally am sensing it is her spirit not a ghost of her.

There are lots of things which could have caused this, from retinal damage and reflections to overactive imagination. Or, it could have actually been a ghost.

It's hard to tell without other evidence if it's a ghost or not. Photos, video, recording of some kind, EVP, etc., is necessary in order to help rule other things out.

But ghosts used to be people, according to most beliefs. This means that they should react like people. They may be able to communicate via EVP in some ways; or they might just be willing to be photographed. It's difficult to say what your case is. I would recommend a cheap digital voice recorder and spending some time talking to the empty house to see if your sister will respond on the recorder (you might not hear it yourself... that's EVP for ya!).

First of all I am sorry about your sister!

Yes it could have been your sister showing herself. Was she wearing a white dress when she died, does your mom see her with a white dress. Try discussing the subject with your mother and see if the stories match up. Your sister may be trying to tell you that she loves you and that she's OK, I hear of many cases when a relative or friend passes on and they just come to say I am OK now and I'm here.

Don't be scared if it is your sister. Don't think she's not where she is supposed to be or just don't be afraid period. NEVER use occult devices like Ouija boards or things like that if your not a trained and experienced professional!

Was the woman in white your sister? As you did not see her face, even you cannot say in the affirmative. It is possible she was and she is still 'clinging' on because of the suddenness of death. You may want to consider a service to help her move on to the next world.

There are many things in life we don't understand.  With a 4 year lapse and the fear coming from a dream you may have sought the comfort of someone you were close to and 'she' appeared.  While you may have seen your sister it may be that you have a great imagination and put her there where you could comfort yourself.  If this is so there is nothing to do.  Just accept that it was an effort to comfort, either your own or your sister.  It is unlikely that it was anyone else unless your mother is seeing other entities in the house.

i think u just saw ur sister. she wants to tell something to u. i believe in the paranormal stuffs and weird things so i will say that it was your sister. if u felt her presence or the feelings of her then it is her. if u do not want to believe it then u and ur mom were so upset about ur sister's sudden death that a part of ur mind did not accept and u keep seeing ur sister because u miss  her a lot.

It could be and highly likely that it is. In my experience, people who die suddenly become spirits who haven't quite let go of the earthly plane. Some don't even know they're dead. So, it could be she misses you, misses her life, and is sticking around. But when you sleep, your mind slips into a state of consciousness where your conscious mind, the thinking one, relaxes, like you would in meditation. So it makes it the ideal time for paranormal (I call them spiritual) experiences. Your brain is "ripe" to recieve information from the other side.

I believe you may have seen the spirit of your sister, yes.

The reason your Mum has been having these experiences mostly and first is because i feel that your Mum was the one traumatised most over this sad loss.

I feel your Mum may also be of stronger character to "SEE" the apparition of your Sister, without the fear you explained that you felt yourself.

Hence the reason your sister has left it quite some time before attempting to contact you.

Your Sister is only trying to let you all know that death is not to be feared, as it's simply moving on, and you also said she was clothed in white.
