  1. Well I wouldn't imagine it is unsafe as long as you watch your children and don't let them climb over the rails of the boat.................I have never heard of children leaping/falling of cruise ships, I think that would be a big deal too...I wouldn't worry about it

  2. no one falls off unless they want to commit suicide

  3. I know of only one child that 'fell' off a cruise ship but in that instance he jumped

The ship was alongside in port and the young teen was on the cabin balcony. For whatever reason he dropped his wallet, panicked and jumped after it.... 8 decks above sea level!Amazingly he wasnt harmed however the Captain promptly asked the family to get off his ship.....

Moral of the story? If you want a complete holiday, make sure you keep an eye on your kids, or make sure someone else is looking after them... which on a disney ship wont be hard to do

  4. I don't know of any, but that is probably because they are not allowed to drink.

  5. Cruises are really safe. You have to take in common sense, which I am sure that you have. Some people do, and some don't. If someone gets hurt which is extremely rare, they have a doctor and staff on the ship, and there are the rare case where someone has to be life flighted off the ship, or the ship has to turn around and go back to dock to let someone off the ship. Anyhow... Safety is Disney's and most cruise lines number one thing. Don't worry you will have an amazing time, especially on Disney.

  6. most people that have fallen off cruise ships have been drinking and were on cruises such as royal caribbean and carnival. there was one guy that fell off carnival that was psycho to begin with but was drinking... so unless you spike their drinks you have nothing to worry about plus you would have to climb over the bars

  7. im sure they put high railing to prevent that from happening..

  8. this you should be asking those captions that drive the cruise ships because if their have been they are not letting us know.

  9. I have been on several cruises and the railings are designed so that it is almost impossible to just fall off. Now if someone wants to do something stupid that's another thing. I have not been on Disney's ships but have taken my kids on Carnival and as long as they are supervised by a parent, or camp counselor there shouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately I have seen many parents pretty much drop the kids by a pool and let them run wild while drinking a good part of the day. Have fun and try not to worry. Ships are designed for fun and safe

  10. I don't think any kids have fallen off a ship that big, and if your afraid your kids could get hurt on the cruise don't take them. You're kids are only as safe as you make them. If you make poor choices for and about your kids, bad things happen.

  11. I just came back from the Disney Cruise Ship "Magic" in the Mediterranean.  I took a tour of the ship and got some interesting facts.   Disney purposely built the rails on the ships higher and put plate glass shields against the rails in the verandah's to make it hard to "accidentally" fall over.

I did hear that one person did "Jump" over while at a dock in the Bahama's....and Disney crew members rescued the lady...and escorted the whole family off the ship.

You'll have a great time... Disney ran a well organized ship, tours, activities, and shows!

    Have Fun!

  12. The side rails are pretty high and if you watch your children they should be safe.

    I wouldn't book a balcony room.

I am sure we would of haerd is a child had fallen over and can only imagine if the child wasn't being supervised.

    Have Fun...
