I have alot of boxes of contacts left from my old prescription and new prescription, but they seem tobe the same. the contacts are still in their seals and i have not opened them. Can they expire while in their seals? There are no expiration dates on the boxes and i wear Acuvue

  1. Hmmm, there are always expiry dates on the boxes and each individual container.

It may be something like 08/11...which would be August , 2011

The expiry dates are usually 3 to 4 years away from purchase date.

Anyway...it's the solution they are in that expires, not the lens.

3 to 6 months after the expiry date, mold may be starting to form inside the container , contaminating the lens.

Check again , there has to be dates. I'm not at the office so I can't check and tell you exactly where it is.

  2. This to add on to what footprintz said.

I wear Acuvue.  The date is on the small end panel of the box along with the prescription.  For instance one of mine reads:

    +1.00

    -0.75  090

    2013/10

So mine do not expire until 2013.
