Does anybody know if scientists have or can recreate global warming in the laboratory?

I was thinking a miniature life supporting biosphere replica of the earth could be set up mimicking the solar, seasonal and gas emissions patterns the earth is subjected to but on a smaller scale. Then they could recreate the current and projected patterns on a size / percentage scale and see what happens in to the biosphere. Have scientists done anything like this?

  1. No, scientist can't recreate Global Warming...if they will try to recreate it there will be another problem that will create..maybe your asking what is it? of course, w/o the use of science or technology, we will not be able to produce another product ...and mind you if there is an advatage of technology there is always an disadvantage too! as an summarization, there is no best solution on it....the decision is ours, if we want to make it compicated...and I'm hoping no one would want too....^ - ^

  2. We don't need to. We're running a planet-sized experiment right now.

  3. To recreate global warming 100% accurately would require another globe.  That of course is impossible.

Scientists do have a number of computer simulations, which have been used to help predict certain weather patterns somewhat more accurately.  Tornados, hurricanes, and the paths of tidal waves are modeled on these, as are some basics of day to day weather, and annual weather patterns.  Based on how useful our weathermen are, these computer simulations are still far from perfect as far as day to day purposes go.  On a longer scale of months and years, they seem to be pretty good for predicting temperature changes, but by the time these predictions come true, a newer, hopefully more accurate program is already out there for use.  Of course, some weather simulator programs prove to have fatal errors, so odd mistakes often appear on years predicted by new computers.

It is of course possible to bottle up some air, and heat it with some reliable heat source, then change the composition of the air in the bottle slightly.    All things the same, more CO2 or methane, compared to nitrogen, or oxygen does cause the bottle to heat up more, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the globe has a lot more going on in it than a bottle.
