  1. The truth is too hard to swallow.  PC is a lot "tamer" and "feels" nice.

  2. Being politically correct means you're willing to listen to other people. That gives you a better chance of seeing the truth.

  3. political correctness is bull@#$. it's the reason our country is in the state it's in today. being afriad to tell people like it is , regardless of hurting their feelings should be what AMERICA is about. here is a lighthearted example of political correctness:     " do theses pants make my *** look big?   answer:  "no dear , not at all."       REAL answer: " no,dear, your *** makes your *** look big!"   anyway , you get the point.    i don't think people have become too politically correct, i just think they are afraid to speak the truth because of offending someone or something. they think it's just easier to follow the flow.  only they don't realize the damage they are doing.    sorry about the rant , just a huge peeve of mine.

  4. Polcorists (political correct fanatics) are just a bunch of loonies.

I told them. Handing out the asylum keys to the inmates was not a good idea.

  5. Of course they have. I say that because  the poitical correctness is enforced by law and by brainwashing. The correctness is to the point that certain slangs and slurs have been removed from the dictionary, as if wiping them off pages and outlawing thier use will help stop the problem.

Bigotry in all forms is an ugly thing and the fact that it runs so deeply makes this an even deeper question then there is time to give a good answer too, but I really don't like the way our politicians takes a population and spins it how they like it to make themselve look tolerant.

I am middle aged and have fought smoking and trying to quit for a long time now and it really makes me mad to be cast as a villian or treated like a leper for something we could buy in machines in front of almost any business when I was a kid.

Now it is over weight people under fire. I don't think it is healthy to be overweight but I don't think the Gov. should be able to dictate weather a person stays healthy and thin or choses to let themselves go. They should also not be able to dictate what you are serving your family for dinner.

I see the truth being that every day we are losing some form of freedom to big brother and it should scare the stuffing out of people that basic things such as the political correctness of your next meal is a political issue at all.

I do believe in educating people about thier choices but dictating to them  what the correct ones are by law is dead wrong.

We already have parents. We don't need the Gov. to wipe our bottems. We need to watch out as citizens what freedoms we give up to this kind of madness.

It makes me mad to no end that there is huge amounts of taxes going to pay for all this "Help" when we can't even afford to drive to work.

  6. as Crouching said...

"The truth is too hard to swallow. PC is a lot "tamer" and "feels" nice".

This is why women want honest men, but never the truth, sugar cote the lie and feed me, is the cry

  7. Truth is subjective.  It matters not whether my truth is acceptable to you, or vice versa.  As for political correctness, it's not a big deal whether it's a manhole cover or a utility cover.  There are more important things to worry about.

  8. It depends on what subject you're speaking of within this topic.

For instance, would it be fair for me to say all Mexicans are Illegal immigrants or all White people are ignorant racist? No, because it's untrue, which makes it politically incorrect.

There's a misconception on political correctness. PC is supposed to be a tool to aid in abolishing stereotypes, however many people mistaken it for the race and gender card.

  9. The truth can be spoken in politically correct terms. Believe me, I know.

  10. Maybe they don't want to.

I personally am not politically correct and don't intend to become so.

  11. Arty is right.  We need to understand that what it called politically correct now is just a new word for being polite and knowing when and how to express yourself.  For instance, it's not always a great idea to tell your boss, who has control over your career, that his/her butt is as big as a truck or your spouse either, lol.

On the other hand, using words like "collateral damage" is not being PC, it's trying to whitewash the truth to make it more acceptable.  They are not the same things.

  12. When you are a single mother NO ONE tries to be politically correct they come out and tell you that you are the worse human in the world. so I can handle hearing the truth after all I grew up with 2 parents who were drinkers and NOT politically correct.

  13. Yes and no. People like to be politically correct and true at the same time; however, there are times at which both cannot be satisfied, so one or the other has to be sacraficed for the sought of the other.
