Question:

Have people stopped sending military care packages?

I still send packages, yes it's expensive. It's sad that these guys/gals are so far away and things that we can go to wal-mart and grab in 5 minutes are considered luxuries by them.

there are thousands of soldiers with needs. How is that possible with so many people in this country, the land of milk and honey, why can't people put aside their political differences and help a fellow American with some simple needs?

Most of the requests are like:

"For my company, we would like hygiene objects, protein bars, nutritional foods, motivational letters with pictures, stamps, envelopes, muscle pain relieving creams like bengay, candy, coffee, sugar, hand sanitizer, lip moisturizer, books, games or anything else"

Doesn't exactly sound like a luxury list... Do you or anyone you know send packages? especially care packages to soldiers you don't even know?

  1. Well, my husband is in Iraq right now. They do have one or two people who send the company packages, so there are people who still do. It is greatly appreciated, sometimes he thinks the thanks that should be coming from there aren't delivered properly.

  2. My wife and a group of her friends sent about 4 packager a month to our troops overseas. Also my American Legion Post sends about thirty each Christmas. Maybe I am living in an unusual place, but no people still honor and respect the military.

  3. I still see people gathering things for the troops. Most people with loved ones over there send their own care packages

  4. I think people right now are trying hard to pay their own bills, get groceries, and pay for gas in their vehicles, and its hard to worry about other people, when you're so busy worrying about your own finances.

  5. i hope people haven't stopped sending care packages. it is so important. i do agree that we can put more of an effort.

  6. Well, I am currently over here in Iraq (aLiCiA's husband lol)

We do get stuff on occasion, like she said. It is greatly appreciated, and I do thank everyone for the support.

  7. War is not a vacation. Specific needs can be purchased through the PX or supply channels. If you as a family member are concerned, then call your congressman or senator and find out why your soldiers are not being supplied. Make them accountable for their actions and votes. Be proactive.
