Have some patches I want to put on my leather vest but its hard to sew. Is there a glue good for leather?

  1. Spend the few extra bucks and take it to your local leather shop and have them sew them on.  Regardless of the type of glue, the patches are not going to look right or stay on very good.  


  2. Barge cement is used on a lot of leather work... but a shoe shop can also sew the patches on.


  3. With leather, it's helpful to punch the holes first, then you will find that the sewing is very easy. If you don't want big holes, you have to have it sewn by machine.

  4. copydex type glue works quite well (sort of rubby stuff...)

    or get a good sharp needle, strong thread and a thimble and stick out the sewing

  5. try stitch witchery (aka fusible web) you just put a piece between the patch and the fabric and iron it for a few seconds. you can find it at any fabric store
