specifically im talking about how they sacked a coach that took them to the finals the last 3 years (grant thomas),and appointed ross lyon who has turned out to be a dud who has brought a style of play to the club that is ugly, deffensive and not a blue print to win grand finals. plus sacking a successful coach over personal reasons show how un-profesional the board and president are.what are your thoughts?agree/disagree?

  1. there is all sort of trouble in the club which will cause problems during the season like a 100pt whipping coming up on sunday night

  2. i do agree i think it was a mistake sacking grant Thomas and i do think that ross lyons style of play is very ugly as a true st kilda fan i think they really need to stop sacking the coaches and just blody let one stick it out for a while like i thought they would do with thomas, i find the last 3 years just pointless know because the players are forced to start a new style of football whe they where only just getting the hang of thomas's style. i think the media realy should of left the battle between presisant and former coach it just had no possitive effect on the club and was between them not everyone else... i do think butters is a tool and we really need a better president i think the power got to his head... but come on the saints we will win another flag oneday.. hopefully..

  3. Although I think that Ross Lyon hasn't done much so far its proven that its only very rare occasions when a team who has a new coach achieves anything much in the first year.

Grant Thomas did more than take them to 3 finals series, he also helped get the 'culture' at the club in a more positive direction.

Now he has gone we have the culture being determined by Butterss which is a mistake. I think that the entire board should be re-elected, possibily even taken over by this "Spirit of '66 ticket" hanging about.

I think the St Kilda football club would benefit from moving out to Casey Fields with a new board. Although they may spend another 3-4 years re-building, in the long run I think they will benefit. Although I like Moorabin as the spirital home I think its getting to the stage where you need to have a training venue which isn't in the state of Moorabin, Arden Street etc.

The big names of the football world train at facilties which are a world above Moorabin.

As much as I hate to say it (as a Saints fan), its time to move on from Moorabin and onto bigger and better things.
