Have the Cubs become (Dare I say it) "Ace Breakers"?

Question

First we break Ben Sheets (Or CC, whoever is the Ace in that "1-2 Tickle")

And now Chris Carpenter leaves the game early due to a "strain" riiiigggghhhhttt I'll believe that.

Your thoughts on this???

I am a Cubs fan, but you can hardly consider Chris Carpenter an 'Ace' right now.  

He was in his 3rd start after being out for a year and a half.

Got the loss, but pitched pretty well against the best offense in the NL, too.

I think you are reading too much into it after Cubs beat Sheets and Sabathia a couple of weeks ago.  Pitching won the game against Sabathia and Carpenter...not hitting.

first off, you didnt break cc. if rickie weeks turns a double play you lose that game. carpenter was making only his 3rd start since 2006 so i dont see how you can call him an ace. cubs get lucky yet again. but dont worry, just listen to the old saying: when the ivy dies, so do the cubs. 3 runs through 6 2/3 and 2 runs through 5 is hardly "breaking" aces...

(thats what they did to CC and CC)

What they are doing is gelling, and if they can keep it going they can absolutely win the WS (long-time cubs fan, but a die-hard Rangers fan, yes I love misery I suppose)

i wouldnt really call them "ace breakers" yet because they have only really broken the aces on their division rivals' staffs

they havent faced webb yet this year, which would be a real test

have not faced santana, you split with aaron cook (once he owned the cubs, once they owned him) and lincecum shut you guys down in his only start against the cubs

so i think saying "ace breakers" is a stretch especially because the only aces you broke were in your division..but thats still a good feat in itself

Its awesome they beat guys like Sheets, CC....etc  but then they can never beat the young nobody pitchers who are making their 3rd start or something like that

They broke Ben Sheets and CC Sabathia? Didnt they both just pitch complete game shutouts? CC is 6-0 since he joined the Brewers. Carpenter allowed 2 runs over 5 innings. How is that breaking him?
