Have the Olympics always been this disgraceful?

It seems like the Olympics has been overrun by drama, bad sportsmanship. The Chinese gymnasts ages, the Swedish wrestler, now the Cuban taekwondo competitor kicking the ref in the face...

Is this typical? Maybe I just don't remember.

Olympics games attracts worldwide attention, but when it is hosted by China, which is not a typical western country, there ought to be many controversy...

  10. Yes i remember there are always incidents.  I even remember a greek athlete caught doping in Athens 2004 (and again they had someone disqualified this time).  Korea had a gymnast banned for life when they found out they listed his age as 16 for THREE STRAIGHT OLYMPIC GAMES.

  11. Don't you all feel silly, those of you that ran your mouth about the Swedish wrestler, calling him a disgrace and such. You should be very ashamed of yourselves.

This man worked so hard to get there. You obviously have never competed. Then to lose controversially in 2004. Then putting up with this in 2008 and in the end the poor man was right!

    They ripped him off!

  13. There have always been incidents of bad behavior and cheating, and they have always been far outweighed by those athletes who play by the rules and are gracious and respectful of their competitors.  Competition brings out the worst in some people, but it brings out the best in most.
