  1. This is a completely biased question. One news article isn't proof of anything. All the news media does is condescendingly give "going green" tips and mock Al Gore.

  2. probably...but the government won't. They're making too much money from it.

  3. This is good news I thought .................  but then knowing the reputation of the Daily Express for putting forth right wing propaganda and having a scant regard for the truth,  I decided to looked into the accuracy of the  article.

The journalist Tony Bonnici states that "the respected US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration show that almost all the “lost” ice has come back".

So I went to this respected US site and can find no article supporting this, no mention at all.

Then reality sinks in and I realise how ridiculous the article is how can a snow fall replace ice that has taken thousands of years to build up.

Another example of the British tabloid press who never let the truth get in the way of a story.

  4. If you wish to rely on British tabloids for your science, be my guest!

I'll refer to mainstream scientific organizations such as the National Academies for my science.

  5. Apparently some have. I've noticed "the main stream" media has been very quiet about the subject lately. I find myself feeling a lot like Sir Terrance, above.

  6. It is a money making con.http://www.geocraft.com/WVFossils/ice_ag...

  7. The truth is, we just don't know.  The complexity of the Earth's climatology is not fully understood.

For this reason, I get rather annoyed when "global warming" is spoken of (and taught) as fact, when it is nothing of the sort.

  8. Well it's about time! Thank you for that!

  9. No, they have not.

Al Gore said that global warming was causing the cold and snow.

    What a joke.

  10. I take what the mainstream media says with a grain of salt because they are too agenda driven. I stay iformed by listening to talk radio, many different shows that is not the same one only. I feel better informed than most of the people who only watch prime time news shows.

  11. No.  Are you basing this question on one media article?

That's akin to claiming that global warming has stopped because we had a cold January.

    At least you're consistent.

  12. h**l no. people will always think its not real or a big threat. people will always have their opinion. so just sit back an enjoy the show.

  13. the media get most of their money from advertisers selling polluting lifestyles and from people adicted to those lifestyles that want to read that they don't have to change.

please don't confuse them with facts, carry on regardless.

    >60% of car ads are for vehicles in the top 2 most polluting bands, <5% for ones in the bottom 2.

(how do people think information about climate change makes money for anyone? http://www.ipcc.ch)

  14. Clearly not.

The Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University, documents how the media supports the false appearance of controversy on the topic of global warming:

"A new study has found that when it comes to U.S. media coverage of global warming , superficial balance—telling "both" sides of the story—can actually be a form of informational bias."

The article you reference clearly confuses short term weather with climate (long term trends).  The lack of relevance of reporting weather in an article supposedly on climate may be intentional, a shameless attempt to capture the interest of readers at the expense of accurate, honest and truthful reporting.  Television stations are notorious for this shameful tactic, since any boost in their ratings directly increases their advertising revenues.

  15. No, they getting money from all of this global warming, even they have had scientists from all corners of the world saying that it is a natural cycle the world goes through every now and again. There in it for the money.

  16. Nope.

Global warming is not a blowtorch that eliminates winter.  It's a slow but steady increase in AVERAGE temperature that will cause great damage if we do nothing.

Even the media knows that much science.

  17. No people will always have there opinion...therefore media will alway be for it or against it
