  1. Yup, some will even charge you for bags.

  2. Our local Co op tells us it will soon stop giving out bags, our other supermarket,Somerfields is still giving you as many as you wish. The weird thing about this issue is that when I was a kid in the 70's my mum and all the other women I knew used the following to get their shopping home; string bags/ proper 'shopping' bags usually mad out of fake leather ,and shopping trolleys. Now here's the weird bit , if no-one back then used plastic bags,at what point in their infinate wisdom did big retailers decide to introduce plastic bags?????I mean it's not as if any one was actually ASKING for plastic bags.

  3. Yes, I've noticed in Asda were you used to pack your own bags from the bags sitting on the checkout, now when you buy stuff the checkout operator has them hanging beside them and packs your shopping for you :-)

  4. Yes they are only put a few out nowadays, epecially in Somerfields.

  5. Yes most of them have. Some supermarkets actually have a day where there give out no bags and you have to take your own. So i suppose they are reducing the number of bags given out. Probbably to help the environment.

  6. They're being all wussy about bags now, they'd rather you carried your shopping home on your shoulders.

  7. no.. i think they increased it

  8. yes, i think they have..

if you ask for a carrier bag in Wilkinson's your made to feel like your asking for the world...

i do recycle, but when i"m out shopping it"s not always possible to do without a carrier, especially if you"ve purchased a lot of things

  9. Yep they won't have them before long!!

  10. not sure, but I have been taking less.

  11. yes they have you now can buy reusable bags to reuse some are only 5p each

  12. Asda by me are still giving them out untill they run out, then we have to pay 5p for the reusable ones.

  13. Asda now only sell reusable bags.

  14. they are supposed to ask you how many you want and only give that many. They just put a few out on the end but if you want more they give them to you, so it's a bit pointless to be honest. I think they should just stop making and using plastic bags all together if they want us to us reusable ones.

  15. yes but if you shop online with Asda they use loads of bags, sometimes one item in each bag!

  16. Yes they have...

Asda actually refused to give me bags a couple of weeks ago! :(

  17. they prefer it if you buy those reuseable ones and get really annoyed if you don't

  18. Some supermarkets have. At the moment Sainsbury's and Tesco, are giving extra points on their shopping cards if you take your own bags. It's worth applying for their points cards, as you can save the points and use them to buy groceries when you get really skint!
