  2. Yes, the 1975 Penguins took a 3-0 lead against the Islanders  who rallied back to win and the 1942 Red Wings took a 3-0 lead against the Maple Leafs who rallied to win. It is worth pointing out that 1975 is 33 years after 1942 and 2008 is 33 years from 1975, is this a 33 year trend?

    The Islanders atually almost came back twice in 1975 from a 3-0 deficit. The Flyers took a 3-0 lead and the Islanders won three straight, sending the series to a game 7 which the Islanders lost.

Have you seen the Pens record it is 11 and 1.  The Pens are the second team to duplicate that mark since the 1983-84 Edmonton Oilers who starngely enough won the Stanley Cup.  Now i am not saying the Pens will win it but history is on their side.  Yes the 33 years is an interesting coincidence but as great as Dallas played last night I just don't see it happening.  And trust me the Pens don't want to give up a game to the Flyers.  I will say this if Dallas comes back and wins I say that would be the biggest comeback ever that would even trump the red sox beating the yankees in that fashion.

    Correction. The Leafs and Islanders actually are the teams that came back. I misread your question the first time. The Red Wings and Penguins, respectively, are the teams that blew the leads. What a coincidence.
