  1. The reality is you train your *** off and inventory tools. It is a lifetime of boring moments interrupted by a moment of terror. The life you are looking for can be found in the local gym. Work out and in the last moment live. It is the health you have always dreamed of.

  2. It doesn't matter what your dead set on doing..If your physically unable to perform at these levels then all your dreams will continue to be just that..

For some reason in todays society of HS students no one wants to be a Sailor, or a Marine, or a Soldier..Everyone wants to be in the elite units and the h**l with being a regular person first.

Reality is that only a very very small percentage will every get into these units. So those who join and are not honest with themselves will end up in the "regular" military.

I suggest you figure out first if you want to be a Marine, Soldier, or Sailor then simply enlist into this branch and when you have proven to yourself that you are capalbe of being in these units you simply apply.

  3. If you are really "dead set" on going into the Special Operation community you should try going in the Green Berets or a Ranger Batt.

Both you can join straight into the Army.

The fallout rate is much higher for Green Berets and is much longer in training. MAKE SURE YOU ARE IN GREAT PHYSICAL SHAPE.

I would reccommend going into a Combat Arms MOS, getting your feet wet, then try out for SF.

If you dont want to wait then go Rangers.

Don't get the mentality that you can kill someone with a snuff can if you are one of these guys. They are elite, PROFESSIONAL Soldiers. They are not boastful and will not tolerate that type of mentality.

Above all else make sure this is really what you want to do in life.

  4. Lava Dog hit the nail on the head - you can't be in the top echelon of the military until you've done some time at the bottom.
