Have to pee in cup for sports physical, on period? ?

I am on my period and tomorrow I have to have a free sports physical at my school. I have to give a urine sample but because I have my period I am wondering if it will affect it? This is not a regular physical...just one done at the school, so I dont think that they are going to deeply analyze the urine. Will being on my period mess up the results though?

yes the urine will be affected by your blood because when you pee blood will go into the urine and your able to see what's going on in it or get it tested because there will be red globs of blood in there so they will probably make you do a retest or something when you are off.

This happened to me when I had a work physical. It isn't like going to the OB/GYN, so I was embarrassed. The doctor said, "There was blood in your urine, are you...?" and I said "I have my period" and that was it. I'm sure you won't be the first/only girl in your place. Just tell the nurse before you give her (or him) the pee. But no, it won't mess up your results or anything like that. Good luck.

No, it won't mess up the results, but I suggest wearing a tampon so blood doesn't get in the urine sample in the first place.
